A Stunning Wedding Venue in Charlotte: The VanLandingham Estate

Tucked in among old, stately trees and perfectly manicured lawns sits the VanLandingham Estate. The VanLandingham Estate is a newly-renovated wedding venue in Charlotte. Originally built in 1913, this stunning craftsman-style mansion truly has it all: a glittering bridal suite, a groom’s space with a big-screen TV, all the inside room you could possibly need for a ceremony, cocktail hour, and/or a reception, a huge patio for a tent reception, and a multitude of beautiful nooks and spaces for a garden ceremony, cocktail hour, and/or reception. I was able to visit a couple of weeks ago, see the gorgeous renovations they recently completed, and take a few pictures of their stunning venue. I can’t wait to share more and walk you through all the possibilities of this amazing wedding venue in Charlotte.

The House

The VanLandingham Estate home is truly one of a kind. When you walk through their double French front doors, you find yourself in a room full of natural light. With windows everywhere, a fireplace in each room, and a perfect bar space, this area is perfect for a cocktail hour. Just imagine your friends and family members mingling, drinks and hors d’oeuvres in hand, laughing and chatting about the beautiful wedding ceremony they just witnessed. You and your brand new husband sneak in for a bit after pictures, and just seeing everyone having fun and enjoying your party– you know that this must be one of the best moments of your life.

The VanLandingham Estate wedding venue in Charlotte NC

Behind this perfect cocktail hour space and through a pair of stunning stone arches you find a long room with a full wall of windows. This room also has a perfect bar space, and, since it opens directly onto their huge patio (which can easily house a massive tent for an elegant indoor-outdoor reception), this would also make a perfect space for cocktail hour. It would also be a beautiful space to extend your reception area, or, if you need an indoor ceremony space this would be gorgeous. Those stone archways would make a gorgeous altar with some fresh flowers and greenery!

The Grounds

The house at the VanLandingham Estate is absolutely breathtaking, and the grounds at this incredible wedding venue in Charlotte are even more gorgeous. The lawn is full of hidden nooks and corners that would make the most incredible ceremony locations. With huge, stately trees that would make a gorgeous, natural altar and an easy aisle, it’s no challenge at all to imagine yourself saying “I do” here, surrounded by your loved ones.

The Best Part of this Wedding Venue in Charlotte

I know after seeing the beautiful interior and the perfect lawn it’s hard to imagine that there’s a “best part” that could top those, but truly my favorite part of this entire venue was the cute greenhouse and wild, untamed gardens around the greenhouse that are behind the main house. With flowers blooming on all sides, vines and trees with the sunlight filtering through so beautifully that even noon looked like golden hour, and more perfect hidden corners than you could ever find in one portrait session, this part of the estate was truly a hidden gem.

Just imagine your guests seated throughout the garden or even on the gravel drive while you and your love promise one another forever with this greenhouse and this wild, stunning garden as the backdrop. Can you imagine a more gorgeous wedding!?! Because I can’t! And then, while everyone goes to cocktail hour, you and your brand new husband get 15 minutes to get lost in the garden while Golden Hour glows all around you for your bride and groom portraits. This would also make the most stunning spot for a first look! The possibilities are truly endless.

The VanLandingham Estate

From the moment I stepped onto the grounds at the VanLandingham Estate I knew that this was one of those places where 1. If Kyle and I were going to get married all over again, this wedding venue in Charlotte would be at the top of my list for location and 2. This is one of those venues where I could literally shoot every single weekend. It’s gorgeous, unique, and has the perfect spot to make any style wedding absolutely magazine worthy. And, perhaps most importantly, the Best Impressions Catering team who manages the VanLandingham Estate consists of some of the wedding industry’s kindest, most helpful and knowledgeable people around. I cannot stress enough how highly I recommend contacting them and checking out this gem of a wedding venue!
