I shared about today’s featured venue last year when I first toured it, and it is still one of my very favorite venues of all time. An elegant barn, acres of wild grasses and wildflowers, an orchard, an herb garden, a vineyard, a dreamy farmhouse, and a manicured lawn overlooking the lake all form the package that is North Corner Haven. They do every event with excellence, and photographing their Cherished Weddings has been a dream come true. I spent some of my favorite hours of the last year at North Corner Haven.

So, when Becky reached out to me back in January and asked if I’d be interested in photographing Charlotte’s best Valentine’s event my answer was a no-brainer. Yes! Yes! And, yes please!!

Valentine’s Day at North Corner Haven

The North Corner Haven team planned a truly glorious evening on the farm for Valentine’s Day. The evening was cold and rainy, but that didn’t stop anyone from coming and thoroughly enjoying themselves. The team along with Melissa from Proper Flower decorated the ever-gorgeous Cedar Barn with fresh flowers in shades of deep red, pale pink, and white with touches of gray and dusty blue for contrast. Candles flickered romatically on every table.

The evening began with appetizers and drinks, including a special North Corner Haven signature cocktail called Elderberry Kiss, on the farmhouse porch. Aafter taking time to enjoy these treats everyone moved to the barn where the first of four courses was waiting to be served to each couple at their table. The Flipside Restaurant Group expertly prepared and plated each course in a way that was as beautiful to look at as it was delicious to eat. While everyone enjoyed their scrumptious meal, The Parker Brothers provided live music. While the plan originally allowed time for dancing, no one ended up doing that; they were all enjoying just sitting and listening too much!! The evening wrapped up with a sticky toffee bread pudding topped with salted caramel ice cream. The sweetest ending to a romantic evening at North Corner Haven.

What Did You Do For Valentine’s Day?

Every couple who attended the evening said that they already planned to enjoy Valentine’s Day at North Corner Haven next year. It truly was the perfect way to celebrate a romantic holiday.
