A Splendor Pond Wedding: Mandy and Luke

“Mandy was the sister I never had. She was just always there for me; I remember the nights at Mandy’s house when it felt like everything was going wrong, and she’d just cry with me.” This is what Mandy’s Maid of Honor said during her speech, and, you know what? That’s just the kind of person Mandy is: thoughtful, present, and kind. So, when her Splendor Pond wedding day was sunny with blue skies and a light breeze, it felt like Heaven had smiled down on her and given her the picture-perfect day she deserved.

Mandy and Luke met at a birthday party a couple of years ago. Ironically enough, Mandy technically wasn’t actually invited to that birthday party, but sometimes there are bigger things happening than what meets the eye. That was certainly the case at this birthday party because Luke eventually asked Mandy out on a date. For their first date, they grabbed beers at a local brewery. The birthday party might have been how they met, but it was after that first date that they knew.

They knew that they’d met a person who would not only love them through good times and bad no matter what but who would also fight for them, chase dreams with them, and make them laugh every single day. And, as amazing as it is when you meet that person, it’s even more amazing when you have a room full of your family and friends who stand up and see it, too. And that’s really what Mandy and Luke had on that stunning June day for their Splendor Pond wedding.

So there they were. The sun shown through the branches of the trees encircling the clearing. Old wooden pews arranged in the woods filled with loved ones. A cross adorned with white flowers and a single pink daisy stood in the front, and small bottles filled with flowers of varying pink and white hues lined the aisle. When the music started, the excited chatter died down, and, at that moment, Luke entered. He hadn’t seen Mandy yet, but he didn’t have too much longer to wait. First came the bridesmaids. Then the adorable flower girl. And, finally, every member of the congregation stood; the double doors at the top of the aisle opened, and everyone simultaneously gasped. There was Mandy, and she looked stunning.

And there, standing in the sunshine, they promised to do what everyone who has ever seen them together knows they were created to do: love each other faithfully forever and ever.

The Splendor Pond Wedding Dream Team

Mandy and Luke’s beautiful day was hosted by the ever-stunning Splendor Pond and coordinated by the talented Victoria Stallings of Wild Daisy Events. The floral accents were artfully created by the bride and her mom, bridesmaids, and mother-in-law. Sire Sounds Mobile DJ kept the party going, and LKN Catering- Langtree catered the event to perfection. Mandy look absolutely gorgeous in her Jillian’s Bridal dress, and the bridesmaids stunned in their dusty rose gowns from Birdy Grey.
