When it comes to wedding planning, you probably already have TONS of inspo to get you through. When you hear love songs on the radio maybe you add them to your list of potential first dance songs for your wedding, but, here comes the tricky part: finding a first dance song that hasn’t been played at every other wedding this year. This might not matter to you, and that’s totally fine; everyone has their own preference for their wedding, and we can’t deny that Ed Sheeran’s, “Thinking Out Loud” gets all of the heart eye emojis flowing. But, for those of you who yearn for a unique first dance song, I have decided to do a little digging for you!
Let’s first cover the most popular first dance songs that you may or may not want to use.
Honestly, nothing on that list is short of perfect for a first dance song. But, I am talking to those brides-to-be that are in search of a first dance song that might make everyone pull out their phone and open up their Shazam app. For those of you looking for an individual, unique, and one of a kind first dance song for your wedding, here is our list.
And, as a fun bonus, here’s a little link to the song Husband and I used for our own first dance. It’s not a traditional “love song,” but, for us, it told our story and all the many different events and life experiences that led us to our wedding day, and, even now years later, it still takes me to that moment in his arms spinning around the dance floor while our family and closest friends looked on. And may or may not have made comments about “smoking the place out,” but that is another story for another day. 😉
Wow, I could keep going, but you get the point – there are TONS of fantastic love songs out there that will be perfectly unique for the bride and groom to dance to. Don’t be afraid to use a song that is different, for every couple is different, every love story is different, and you should feel completely empowered to choose whichever song speaks to you and your fiance the best. Some of the songs I listed are older, some are newer, but they are all songs that we thought would express the LOVE between two people. Maybe this list will be the answer to your searching, or maybe it will spark an idea for a song that you haven’t thought of using. Either way, I hope that this list of unpopular first dance songs has helped your wedding planning!
