Elias: 2 Month Update

Let’s just get one thing out of the way right off the bat: I forgot to take my child’s 1 month pictures. I’m actually really sad about that, but it made me extra determined to stay on top of it for his 2 month update. And, like time tends to do with a baby around, the last month absolutely FLEW by in a blur of baby smiles, blow out poos, new baby exhaustion, and heart-melting moments. So here we are already: time for his 2 month update. 🙂

These last two months with Baby Elias have been so very sweet. His sisters absolutely adore him (they don’t show up in his 2 month pictures because they’re both coughing and have been given strict boundaries where he’s concerned until further notice). They delight in his smiles and try to decipher words in each and every coo. They “read” him stories, chatter to him non-stop, and feel compelled to show him every single trick and item they find interesting or remarkable. Adia especially loves talking about all the things they’ll do together “when Baby Elias is bigger.” Watching these three together warms my heart unimaginably. 🙂

What He’s Been Doing Lately

And, in this last month, Elias has really started to coo and chatter with us. We can have a full conversation going back and forth imitating each other’s noises. He loves to stick out his tongue and thinks it’s hilarious when you stick yours out in response. He smiles easily and has the sweetest dimples and has even started giggling. His dreams must be hilarious because we’ve heard some deep belly laughs in his sleep, too. He now weighs 14 pounds and is 24 inches long.

Our boy is sweet, funny, handsome, and smart, and we can’t wait to see more of his personality coming out over the coming weeks. Elias, we love you with all our hearts and think you’re the most precious boy in the world. We’re so thankful you’re ours!!
