Vendor Spotlight: Ritchie Hill

Several weeks ago I reached out to a few wedding venues in the Charlotte area to see if there was anything I could do for them. I was so excited when Sydney from Ritchie Hill reached out offering a tour and a chance to meet their team! We set up a day that worked, and I’m excited to share with you a few photos (both girls were with me, so interior photos didn’t happen because I was making sure Adia didn’t throw herself down the stairs or throw some beautiful piece of their decor off the second story porch and didn’t even pull out my camera until we were outside) as well as my top 5 reasons why you should check out Ritchie Hill and consider them for your wedding.

5. Location, location, location: Ritchie Hill is an historic home located just outside of Charlotte in downtown Concord, but it doesn’t have a busy downtown feel. Rather, it sits on a huge lot back from the road with tons of mature trees and gorgeous green space. It feels much more like a plantation set in the rolling hills of North Carolina’s beautiful countryside. It’s peaceful and perfect.

4. They have everything you need on site and really work to make your entire experience as perfect and stress-free as possible: From separate getting ready spaces for the bride/maids and groom/men to countless first look and portrait spots to the full kitchen (which helps keep your catering costs down) to the huge porch to the wedding planning room complete with their own advice and expertise as well as books and magazines of inspo, Ritchie Hill really has everything right there on site.

3. The possibilities are endless: I’m going to struggle to keep this one short because when I say “endless” I really mean it! They have no fewer than 3 ceremony locations (and will make any other work for you if another spot strikes your fancy), multiple reception locations, beautiful getting ready rooms, and more options for your first look and portraits. It’s truly an amazing venue!

2. It’s GORGEOUS! When they redid the Ritchie home they left no detail overlooked. The home itself is full of natural light with the most beautiful nooks, styled perfectly for bridal portraits and weddings. The grounds are richly landscaped and perfectly tended. It really is an incredible spot, and I can’t say enough good things about it!

1. They bend over backwards for you: Now that’s we’ve more than discussed the physical perfection of Ritchie Hill, I have to also mention that the best part of Ritchie Hill is its heart: the people. The staff I met the day I toured were so kind, welcoming, and accommodating. As I mentioned already, I had my two girls with me; my oldest is 3, and the staff went out of their way to welcome and play with my girls. They even pulled out bubbles for them while I snapped a few outside pics! They have a room that’s well-stocked with wedding planning books and magazines. They meed one-on-one with their brides. I wasn’t a Ritchie Hill bride (though I’m giving serious thoughts to a vow renewal in a few years….), but I got the feeling that the people who are, are treated like royal family. I could go on and on, but I think it’s time to show you a small glimpse of what I’m talking about. 🙂

Cutest little out-building you ever did see. 😉

In the picture on the left you can see the gorgeous wrap-around porch. How perfect for a reception!! And, if you look at the upper left hand corner of the house in the picture on the right you can see the upstairs porch: first look, perhaps?!

See? Photographic proof of the bubble blowing! 🙂

Imagine yourself in white walking down this aisle? My favorite of the ceremony locations was at the end of this sidewalk. 🙂

Picture a flower arch centered on that paved spot with your friends and family in white chairs on the grass witnessing the day you and your fiance become a brand new family! It’s breath-taking!

I couldn’t resist including this one of my tiny flower girl in training!

So, there you have it! Check out Ritchie Hill if you’re looking for a gorgeous location and the opportunity to work with people who will treat you with so much love you’ll feel apart of the family by the time all is said and done!
